Hello,
I purchased this volume control and I am trying to figure out how to hook it up. I am not an audio guy at all so this is all new to me. I have this receiver

I want to hook up 4 speakers to this volume control and to this receiver. Can someone give me detailed instructions of what wires need to be hooked up and where.
I would like to know the settings that I need to put on the volume control so everything is working properly. I am putting this in my outdoor kitchen / pool area.
these are the 4 speakers that I bought.

Hi Dom,
It really depends on your amp and whether it can handle less than an 8ohm load. If it can, you should be fine running multiple speakers off the volume control. I would get the OVC300 however. You would basically run all 4 speakers back to the outputs of the volume control. Twist the two negative together and the two positives together and connect.

I don't need the box, I only want to replace the interior I bought one in 2013 on your order # 227879 and it worked fine for 2013-2014. but now it is shot. It smells like burnt electronics in the box.

You can remove it from the box but they are not sold without the box. What amp are you running to the volume control?

This is Edward Kehoe again. I asked a question about the above Outdoor Volume Control QVC100 that I bought on your order Number 227879. You asked me how many amp I was running to the volume control. But you sent it on a do not reply email. I am running a Yamaha RX-V2002 natural sound AV Receiver. It shows that I am running 100 watts to each outdoor speaker and it is about 120 feet from the receiver. I have the specification page scanned, but I have no way to send it to you. If the wires were to be crossed with the speakers disconnected and the receiver turned on, would that effect the OCV? I really want to get this system up and running again, I just want to avoid destroying the OCV. If I need something different, that would be no problem for me. The thing worked perfectly last year.

Hi Edward,
You would probably want to run the OVC300 since it can handle more power per channel than the OVC100. As for wiring, I don't believe that would cause any damage to the volume control but do make sure the wiring is correct to get proper sound quality.

Is this unit stereo in and stereo out? Is this all I need to control the volume of a stereo pair of spkrs outside??

Yes there are four conductor in (R +/- and L +/-) input connections and the same on the output side. We do offer feature stereo in and out.
Yes you should have no problem controlling a stereo pair.

I'd like to be able to independently control the volume of two pairs of outdoor speakers. I'm only running one pair of speaker wires outside and was thinking that I needed two of these volume controls, or some type of outdoor speaker switch (which I don't see on your site) to be able to switch between A, B or A+B. My amplifier can handle low impedance without an issue.

HI Steve:
I am assuming you have either a single four conductor cable or Dual two conductor cables coming from your house. You can splice these so you have two four conductors cables (16/4 or 14/4 depending what you have already run, 16 or 14 gauge) going to a outdoor volume control for each pair of speakers. I would recommend going with the OVC300 where you will be using the volume control to turn the speaker volume level down so it is in audible. You would set each Volume control impedance setting to 1/2x. As you said low impedance is not a problem but the lower impedance will create more power so that is another reason I suggested the OVC-300 over the OVC-100. Checkout our CL3/FT4 direct burial wire available in 14 or 16 gauge and also look up out Aqua Blue terminal connectors for the splicing. There is another option for you if you have access to the speaker wires before it goes outdoors, you can add a SSVC2 speaker selector with Internal volume controls and on off switch per zone.
