Built for large commercial and residential installations, our Professional Grade 500-ft speaker cable is designed for pros who want to provide customers with the best quality audio and get the job done quickly and efficiently. Rated for both in-wall and direct burial use, this two-conductor high strand count copper cable provides excellent signal transfer for installations where background music is needed, and the 12-gauge thickness is ideal for long wire runs (over 50 ft) and low-impedance speakers. The reinforced but flexible polypropylene jacket is UV resistant and protects the copper conductors from high heat and cold conditions as well as dirt, dust, and other elements that can degrade cable integrity. Features that cater to demanding integrators include a reinforced box with an easy pull, snag-free design, and tissue-wrapped conductors for quick stripping. The extra sturdy box has a large payout hole, so cable runs are fast and smooth while the patented REELEX technology pulls coils from the inside out to prevent twists, knots, and tangles that can slow job progress. This sturdy audio speaker cable also includes two-foot increment printed markers so you can determine how much cable has been used and how much is left in the box, making long cable runs easier than ever.

    What's on your mind?

Josh • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I see there are two different cable diameters given in the question and answers. One answer says the cable has 1/4" Diameter and another answer says .335" (8.5mm). See attached screenshot. Which diameter is correct for this cable? Can you fix the conflicting information on your website?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HI Josh: They tell me the official diameter of the 12/2 is 5/8". Use that number as you reference. TL/4954
Matt • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM m going to purchase the Sonance speaker system which includes 8 speakers, one subwoofer and amp. The distance of speaker wire I need is approximately 170 feet (one straight run). Can I use 14/4 for my wire? If not, what do you suggest? Thanks Matt
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Matt: https://www.sonance.com/outdoor/sonarray Sonance recommends 14-4, you need a 4 conductor cable based upon their installation video. We have a 12 gauge, but it is limited to 2 conductors. We usually recommend 16 gauge for 0 to 80 feet, 14 gauge 81 to 200 feet. 12 Gauge longer than 200 feet. If you are connecting a subwoofer/low frequency only; 1 to 50 ft 14 gauge and above 50 feet; 12 gauge. TL/5474
Johnnie • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I want to place outdoor speakers on my deck.  My deck is in bright sunlight all afternoon and into the late evening.  Each speaker will sit under an overhang between two bay windows.  Some of the wire may be exposed to the elements.  Would that be a problem with this wire?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Johnnie:All of our CL3 rated speaker wire has a UV treatment added to the outer jacket so it should not be a problem. Usually, we recommend 12 gauge for Subwoofers and 14 gauge for an upgrade from 16 gauge. The 16 gauge works best when terminating into our Speaker Selectors and indoor Volume Controls. Make sure your speakers will accept up to 12 Gauge. The rule of thumb for us is 16 gauge for runs up to 80 feet and 14 gauge for 81 to 200 feet. And 12 above that. Also 14 gauge for subs up to 50 feet and 12 AWG above that. It is never a bad thing running bigger wire.TL/5587
Alvin • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM i WANT TO USE THIS WIRE FOR ACCESSORIES ON MY BOAT.  iT WILL BE IN ENCLOSED AREAS AND BASICALLY DRY.  WILL THIS WORK FOR THAT AND DOES IT COME IN MULTIPLE COLORS.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Alvin:The 12 gauge will most likely work for your application but we are limited to two colors Black or White Jacket. It also looks like you will be dealing with Fresh Water versus Saltwater. I would check with a marine wire supply for more choices for colors. And talk to an expert in marine wire, seems to meet they have different specs in that industry.TL/5630
