The reinforced but flexible polypropylene jacket is UV resistant and protects the copper conductors from high heat and cold conditions as well as dirt, dust and other elements that can degrade cable integrity. Features that cater to demanding integrators include a reinforced box with an easy pull, snag-free design, and tissue-wrapped conductors for quick stripping. The extra sturdy box has a large payout hole, so cable runs are fast and smooth while the patented REELEX technology pulls coils from the inside out to prevent twists, knots, and tangles that can slow job progress. I have two outdoor speakers that I need to connect to my deck radio. The wire will be exposed to the sun, because it will sit on top of my patio cover. What is the best wire for my system? What kind of connectors will I need when splicing the wire?

Is this wire "CL" stamped/labeled?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mike:
All of the speaker wire we sell, 16, 14 and 12 gauge; two and four conductors; Black or White jacket feature CL3 listing on the jacket. Approved for all Residential and most Commercial in-wall and In-Ceiling applications. It is not rated to run in Heating or Cooling Ducts on Commercial projects (that would need to be Plenum rated).

Manuel Del Busto • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
If sealed with proper heat shrink connectors, can this cable be used to install marine speakers?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Manuel:Our cable is multi-strand and Oxegen Free Copper. Two keys specs for Marine application. True Marine cable adds a coating of tin to each conductor and the jacket is oil and heat resistant. You might want to tin the exposed ends of the cables. There is a reference to SAE (Society of Automotive Engineering) rated cables. These would be for connecting Speakers only. The outer jacket is CL3 rated (fire retardant, approved for in-wall application for all residential and most commercial). It does not burn or give off toxic fumes. We add a UV protection so it can be used for direct burial. I hope that helps.TL/5534

Hi Anthony:All our CL3 Rated Speaker Wire, 16, 14 and 12 gauge are 100% pure Oxygen Free Copper. We do not use Copper Clad Aluminum for any of our Speaker Wire.TL/2825
Trey • 07/16/2021, 7:32:31 PM
Hi there - I'll need to pull wire to a pair of stereo speakers through one run of 1/2" conduit. Should I run one four conductor cable in the jacket or two two conductors in the jacket? One speaker will be about 30' from the amp and the other will be about 65' from the amp. Thanks!
Customer Service • 07/21/2021, 3:08:35 PM
Hi Trey: Are you running 30 feet to the first and then 35 feet from the first to the second speaker? Or are you running two separate conduits, one being 30 feet and the other being 65 feet? That is a long way apart for stereo pairs of speakers. I will run JA16/4 to both speaker locations if you want to add a second speaker connection at each end, making sure you are using 8-ohm speakers and your AMP/Receiver can handle two pairs of 8-ohm speakers. Four conductors will help you future-proof your setup.
