    • Rated for both direct burial outside and in-wall installations
    • Highly conductive, oxygen-free copper strands
    • Ideal for bi-amping for volume controls
    • Provides reliable signal transfer over long distances
    • UV-resistant polypropylene sheath seals out moisture
    • Includes tissue-wrapped conductors for quick stripping
    • Reinforced box with large payout hole for fast and smooth cable runs - Available for 500FT only
    • Extra-sturdy box includes patented REELEX design that prevents twists, knots, and tangles - Available for 500FT only
Built for large commercial and residential installations, the Professional Grade speaker cable is designed for pros who want to provide customers with the best quality audio and get the job done quickly and efficiently. Rated for both in-wall and direct burial use, this four-conductor high strand count copper cable provides excellent signal transfer over long cable runs (over 50 ft), and the 4-conductor wire has a higher threshold for power and can be bi-amped (two amps to a single speaker) for volume control installations. The reinforced but flexible polypropylene jacket is UV resistant and protects the copper conductors from high heat and cold conditions as well as dirt, dust and other elements that can degrade cable integrity. Features that cater to demanding integrators include a reinforced box with an easy pull, snag-free design, and tissue-wrapped conductors for quick stripping. The extra sturdy box has a large payout hole, so cable runs are fast and smooth while the patented REELEX technology pulls coils from the inside out to prevent twists, knots, and tangles that can slow job progress. This sturdy audio speaker cable also includes two-foot increment printed markers so you can determine how much cable has been used and how much is left in the box, making long cable runs easier than ever.

Paul • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM What is the maximum number of splices you'd recommend for this speaker wire? I'm running it to a Niles volume control and will already require a splice about 30' from the amplifier where the existing 14/4 wire comes through conduit that I don't want to have to feed through again. From that splice to the volume control, it's around 75'. A single run would be ideal I know, but if I had to create two or three more splices for a total of three or four, would that be a problem? What do you recommend for making the splices that will provide equivalent protection as the jacket?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Paul, The best thing you could do is have at least 14 gauge wire and make sure to protect the splice points with speaker wire nuts.
Jeff Boysen • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I am installing a Sonarray outdoor speaker system. They recommend 18 gauge up to 100 ft, or 16 gauge up to 150 feet. It looks like the installation will require slightly more than 100 ft, probably no more than 110 ft at the very most. Would I be better off with 18 or 16 gauge?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Jeff: If you are going with the SR1 Sonarray system they recommend in their installation video going with the 14/4 like our CL3/FT4 14/4 Direct Burial wire. They supply the needed wire nuts for all eight satellite and single sub woofer connections. The key is the Subwoofer which typically calls for larger gauge wire is tied in with all the satellites (recommended to be installed in the center of the Sonarray System). That would mean in parallel using all four conductors after two right and two left satellites. This is for the 8 ohm system. Bigger is better and sometime you are limited in gauge size when using Volume Controls or Speaker selectors with input/output connectors designed for 16 gauge. You do not have this limitation. The wire nuts you are using work with 14 gauge. Good Luck TL/3993
Chris • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I'm installing 2 speakers on the patio and wish to have a single run from the amp to the speakers. is it possible to use 14-4 cable to first speaker, attach 2 wires, then continue on to the second speaker and use the other 2 wires? The speakers will be located in a covered area of the patio. How do you separate the wires from the jacket at the first speaker location?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Chris: You can absolutely use four conductor wire to run to your first speaker lets say use the red and black conductor for the first (right) speaker. One way is make sure you are careful and strip the outer jacket exposing the Red, Black, Green and white internal individually jacketed conductors, then cut the red and black leaving about three inches of the conductors exposed, strip a quarter of an inch and connect the red to the positive terminal and the Black to the negative Terminal. These should be connected to the R+/- same as it is at the amp or receiver side. Then tie off the black and red conductors and run the four conductor to the second or left speaker. Terminate just the green to Negative and white to positive of the second speaker. The other way that might be easier would call for you to cut all four wires and strip back the outer jacket three inches and strip all four conductors. Again connect the Red and black wire to the respective +/- of the speaker. Then strip the green and white conductors from the rest of the four conductor and tie them to the original green and white conductors found in the cable coming from your source. We sell special outdoor terminal caps called Aqua Blue featuring silicon inside the cap. Run the wire to the second speaker and terminate just the green ad white conductors. Tape off the Black and red. Good luck TL/4298
mike • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Can I bury this underground by itself?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mike: Absolutely, all of our CL3/FT4 UL treated Speaker cables are rated for direct burial as well approved for in-wall and in-ceiling construction. TL/4325
Marcel Plate • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM What is the outside diameter of the 14-4 cable?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Marcel: The outside diameter is no larger than 3/8 inches. You can call our customer service for the actual measurement. I do not have the access to the warehouse like customer service. TL/4357
