Do I need special cable to run outdoor speakers?
We strongly recommend our direct burial, CL3/FT4 waterproof cable and wire connectors that are designed for the outdoors. Our speaker wire uses a specially formulated UV-resistant, white polyethylene jacket that provides protection against water damage and allows the cables to withstand extreme weather conditions like rain, snow and high temperatures and incorporate twice the insulation of average cable. If you plan to bury the cable, OSD recommends you bury it 4-6" underground so that it's not visible nor pose a danger of somebody tripping over it. Our speaker cable is ideal to use in direct burial applications. As for the gauge, for runs up to 100 feet for background music, 16-gauge will be fine. If the run is approaching or exceeding 100 feet, we suggest 14-gauge wire.
Add Volume Controls
Volume controls can be a great addition to a system providing both proper impedance matching and more hands-on local control of the volume in the listening area. We offer a great selection of outdoor volume controls to choose from!
Extremely Durable
OSD outdoor speakers are developed with harsh conditions of the outdoors in mind. Our rock speakers use only non-water-absorbing materials and won't absorb any water. This is critical in winter so it won't freeze and crack. The shape is designed to withstand large amounts of pressure, extreme temperatures and moisture. Remember though, outdoor speakers are an investment, so take care of them. Storing them away from extreme weather conditions will only lengthen the time you will get enjoying outdoor speakers. These rock speakers utilize weather-resistant components for years of trouble free performance.

what is the difference between these and RX805
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
RS850 is higher quality with more bass response. This is our best sounding rock speaker.

Hi. What would be the appropriate connection behind my amp (50 RSM per channel) to connect one RS850? Do I use only left or right post? Can I use 4 wires cable and hook up left and right? Basically, what would be typically the proper way to connect one RS850? I do not want to ear only one side (left or right). Hope my question is clear enough.
Thank you,

Hello,
You would run one RS850 off the right channel and another RS850 off the left channel for stereo.

Hello Brian,
I believe the model you have is the WR800 8" wireless rock speaker pair. Unfortunately we no longer sell this product as it was discontinued a couple of years ago and replaced with a Bluetooth version. However you should still be able to run one of the satellite speakers of our Bluetooth version since it's also passive and looks similar.

I purchased your BTR-800 rock speakers and for some reason it does not appear I am getting power to them. Your guide talks about having the speakers fully charged, How does that come about? Do the speakers have to be plugged in for a period of time? The connection from the power supply to the master speaker is very difficult to engage and I am not sure if it is fully connected, could this be the problem? Could the transformer be malfunctioning and if so how would I check to make sure it is functioning properly.
Thanks Chuck R

Hi Charles,
The BTR-800 speakers do not need to be charged. It could be that you don't have the plug facing the correct direction. If you look closely at the end of the plug from the power supply, you will see that there is a flat edge on one side of the circle that matches the shape of the input on the rock speaker. Make sure to line up the edge on the power supply with the edge on the speaker and push it in all the way.

I got 2 of the BTR-800TT. Can they be hooked up together? I would like one on each end of the pool.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Bill:
The BTR-800TT will not be able to Sync up together. The Bluetooth enabled device will only sync up to one or the other not both at the same time. Our BTR-800 Bluetooth Stereo pair has two speakers one being the master which includes built in stereo amplifier plus Bluetooth Receiver. And a second speaker that has to be hardwired to the first (master) speaker. They should be 8 to 12 feet a part for proper stereo separation.
Please let us know if the BTR800 will work for your application.
