Jax • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Ok no problem...I have an older Pioneer Elite VSX-79 Receiver which is rated at 165 watts with distortion .01% or something and 130 continuous in the manual. It has currently connected to it 5.1 Polk Audio RM-6750 sattelite speaker set. This includes FR, C, FL, RR, RL and Sub Woofer. These speakers are small so the recommended setup from Polk was to wire the subwoofer via Speaker level inputs from the fronts speakers and not a RCA subwoofer cable to the receiver. I also have an open B front channel on the receiver that I wanted to wire speakers to the bathroom and the outside patio. I really only need to control the patio speakers separatelly since I will probably keep them off most of the year unless I am outside. So I dont want them to control the bathroom speakers or my existing FR and FL speakers which I will use all the time. So I am thinking if I wire the patio speakers up parallel with the FR and FL that this volume control will also now control my main front speakers as well which I dont want. Also if I wire the patios up with the bathroom speakers the volume control will now control the bathroom and the patios as well which I dont want. Not sure what my optimal setup should be, thanks for any help.

Hi Jax: Most of the Pioneer Elite Receivers I looked up feature the option to connect a second room with either pre-amp out/labeled as Multi-Room (which you would need an external Amplifier) or connecting to Speaker B. I would recommend using our SSVC2, 2 zone speaker selector with dual source, Internal Volume Controls and independent on/off switches. That way you could connect both the bathroom speaker (would recommend our Weather-Resistant ICE800TTWRS (single stereo speaker) or ICE800WRS if you have room for a stereo pair. Plus connect the AP520 Patio speakers to the second zone. You would be able to turn ether speaker on/off plus control the volume levels as well. The SSVC2 also handles the impedance matching for the two speaker pairs connected in parallel to your speaker B. That VSX-79 is a real classic, it features a Phono input as well as S-Video connections. But I am sure as most of the Pioneer Elite products it is very well built. We can also satisfy your Cable needs featuring both 16 and 14 gauge in both 2 and 4 conductor versions all CL3 rated approved for in-wall and outdoor applications. Please let me know if you need further clarification. If you need further info please contact me at tim@osdaudio.com. TL

Tom • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I need a pair speakers for my Sonos connect amp for outside I am looking at the ap520s or the 650s which do you think would sound better? It is 55 W per channel 110 Total
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Tom, For your setup, we recommend our AP525 patio speakers. These speakers are equivalent in sound quality to our AP650s but are more compatible with the wattage from your SONOS. CL/MA 1549
mike • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Can I connect these speakers to my Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mike, Yes, but you’ll need an amplifier like our AMP120 between the Samsung Galaxy10.1 Tablet and the speakers. The AP520 outdoor speakers are passive and require an amplifier. Simply connect the AMP120 with a 3.5mm adapter cable to dual male RCA connectors. The 3.5mm plugs into the headphone jack from the Galaxy and the RCA plug into Line 1 or 2 input of the OSD AMP120.
