The OSD Audio AP525 outdoor patio speakers are a popular choice for those looking for exceptional sound and a sleek, modern design. HI Rod:
The internal drivers feature a 5.25 Polypropylene woofer and a 1".0 Silk Soft Dome Tweeter. This is the physical size of the speakers: Dimensions: 9.7 inches high, 6.6 inches wide and 7.5 inches long. Is that all you need to know? Note there is also an upgrade speaker, the AP650 which features a step up 6.5" woofer and 1" silk tweeter as well. Both speakers are totally sealed design with a IP6X weatherproof certification. It also comes in a choice of white or black and features a two way mounting bracket which has a 180 degree swivel and 60 degree tilt for maximum flexibility when installing..

I have some speakers from another vendor that I placed outside (coastal location)) and the grilles have turned yellow... rust... how will your hold up ?

Hi Paul:
The AP525 and AP650 feature a unique Hybrid Cabinet and are a totally sealed design with extra heavy duty Powder Coating on the grill. Both 5.25" and 6.5" are certified IP:6X the highest rating you can have against both water and dust. Now you add the ultimate; salt water air on your island and it just a matter of time, these should last longer than you previous speakers. Do you have them exposed directly to the elements? We also have our AP850 which are not rated as high due to the ported cabinet design and 8 " drivers. But these are more bass heavy and feature Aluminum Grills.

is it possible to connect banana plugs to these speakers? Having recently bought, the back only seems configured for wire insert.

Hi JC:
The push terminals were meant for bare wire connection 16 to 14 gauge recommended. That also gives you better connection to the wire than a banana plug for this connector.

Hello,
Can you clarify the warranty on these and the AP650's? The bulleted specs on the site say 1-year warranty, but in the Other Product Info section, it says "A great alternative to higher priced JBL, Polk or Bose speakers. It has the same performance with a 5yr warranty."

Hello. I am looking for outdoor speakers to go along with my Sunbrite 55" Veranda tv. Not exactly sure what all I need to increase the volume of the tv. TV is under a 30' x 12' covered patio with a swimming pool just off the patio. Not looking to rock the neighborhood, just enough power to hear the tv from about 30-40 feet away. Would the AP525 speakers work and do I need an amplifier?

You will definitely need an amplifier to connect to the Sunbrite TV so you have power for the AP525 or for a little more output the AP650. As far as the optimum amplifier I would recommend you check out our new NERO Integrated Power Amplifier with built-in Bluetooth so you would have a couple of choices for sources either the TV itself or music through the Bluetooth. You would use a 3.5mm aux cable to connect to the TV and the NERO. You may need to build a weatherproof housing for the NERO. It does come with a Remote Control (we could supply you IR codes so you could integrate with a universal remote or the Sunbrite weatherproof Universal remote. The NERO has a small compact footprint and includes wall mount brackets in the kit. Dimensions: 7.5 x 5.5" x 2"
Weight: 2.8lbs. Hopefully, that will work for you.
