Dennis Tuohy • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I want to replace Bose 151 speakers which say on them "Compatible with Amplifiers or receivers rated 10 - 100 watts/channel rated 4 to 8 ohms IEC 50W continuous 6 ohms" will these AP 640 speakers replace them? Will still be using my Bose system amp.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Dennis, The AP640 is an 8-ohm speaker. As long as the amp is rated for 8-ohm speakers and has enough power, it should work fine. CL/MA 1296
gary • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM If i mount these horizontally, should the woofer be on the inside or outside?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Gary, Great question! If you mount these patio speakers horizontally, with the woofer on the inside and the tweeter on the outside, it will enhance the stereo imaging. CL/MA 1375
Mike • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Why would I keep blowing my right side speaker when i want crank it up a bit, this has happened on 3 different kind of speakers
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mike, We may be able to help you but we need more information. What is your system configuration? What model is the receiver or amplifier driving the speakers? Are you using volume controls or a speaker Selector? What type of wire are using? The more system information you give us upfront, the better equipped we will be to help you troubleshoot your system. david mccoy • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I'm looking for a outdoor speaker that puts out some good bass, the last pair I purchased from outdoor depot disappointed in the quality of bass, I don't push the bass hard just want quality sound with a moderate level of bass output. Please suggest speakers in your inventory within the max range of $100 a pair.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi David, What model did you buy originally? The rule of thumb is the bigger the woofer the more potential bass. A 6.5 speaker has more bass than 5.25 and 8" has more base than the 6.5". What are you using for an amplifier? TL /MA - 1589

My AP640 speakers deliver enough bass for me (and my neighbors). However the speaker cables make a huge difference. I use about 20 feet of 12 gauge to each speaker from a 120W rms amp. With 100 ft of 24 gauge cable, the same amp/speaker combination would deliver really flabby bass.
