can you mount this side ways ???
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Russell,
You can mount them sideways yes. I would mount them so that the woofers are on the inside & the tweeters on the outside.

I will need to purchase a mounting block to install these speakers on the side of my house. Can you tell me the total length of the bracket and the distance between the screw holes on the bracket?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Dave,
Total length is 10 7/8", the screw holes are exactly 7 3/8" apart.

I'm interested in the AP640
High Performance 6.5" Patio Speaker Pair for 89.95 - seems it states that
the brackets do not come with them?? Is that as I will need brackets.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mike,
The Patio speakers do come with the brackets and knobs that attach the bracket to the speaker, just not the screws to attach the bracket to the wall. Depending on what type of material into which you are mounting them, you simply need to choose the appropriate screws.

i have a set of bose 151 that are 4ohms that i want to relocate down by my pool and mount the AP640 under my overhang will i be able to run both sets of speakers at the same time with the ohm differance
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Andy:
It really depends on the Amplifier/Receiver you are using. Typically if your connecting a 4 ohm speaker to Speaker A and a second pair of 8 ohm speakers to speaker B there is no problem when running either A or B. The problem arises when you decide to run A and B together. Both speakers are wired in parallel and create a 2.6 ohm (when run at the same time) load which unless you are utilizing our AMP200 or AMP300 both of which are High Current Amplifiers and 2 ohm stable.Note: you can tell immediately if an amp is 2 ohm stable when it has a 2 ohm power rating or states that it is 2 ohm stable. Most Receivers are rated at 8 ohm but can run a single 4 ohm speaker. For your application you may need to add an Impedance Matching Volume Control like our OVC300 to connect both speakers together. Note, the BOSE 4 ohm would count as 2. Add that to the 8 ohm pair (counts as 1) for a multiplier of 3. Your three choices on the Volume Control are 1/2x-4x-8x. There is no setting for 3 so you set it at the next highest setting or 4x. The OVC300 is an Weather Resistant model meant for outdoor usage. Not only does it help with Impedance matching your speakers but it adds additional control in the zone area. It is a passive device that allows you to attenuate or turn the volume down. This would be perfect for tying your system while adding the AP640s.

Does the AP640 High Performance 6.5" Patio Speakers come with speaker wire? If so, how many feet?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HBE,
The patio speakers do not include speaker cable. We suggest purchasing our 16-2, which is good up to 100ft. For runs longer than 100 feet, consider using 14-gauge cable.
