Dual Source Switching
The AMP300 also includes dual source switching to connect two audio sources and toggle between them for greater listening flexibility. Automatic source switching switches between connected sources with a priority signal-sensing feature, so if a DVD player is connected to input 2, then you decide to stream a movie through a game console, when the console is turned on, the AMP300 automatically switches to that source. The AMP300 also includes a variable delay control that lets you adjust the amount of time needed to "listen" for a signal from your main input, between 3 and 15 seconds. This prevents gaps between music tracks from accidentally switching your inputs. This high power amplifier includes two RCA signal level inputs so with the addition of an RCA-to-mini stereo cable (sold separately), you can connect your smartphone or other device.

Rated at 350 Watts per channel peak power (470 Watts Bridged Mono into 8 ohms), the AMP300 can be configured as bridged or stereo. In bridged mode, you can combine the left and right channels into one audio channel which bumps up the power to a whopping 470 Watts (8 ohms). When playing dual sources, switch to stereo mode which reduces the power to 350 Watts per channel. It is the only high current 2 ohm load stable amp in the market.

Great amp the only issue is the lights on the LED meters stay on even when amp is off line. Any way for these lights to turn off as well?

Hi Mike,
Glad you like the amp. The status bar stays on during normal operation, even if no source is playing. The only way to turn it off is to turn off the amp. If the light bothers you while watching a movie, you can always cover it but there is no switch to disengage it.

I have the AMP 300 300W hooked up to my Yamaha RXA2000 and use it to power my home surround system (10 speakers) via Yamaha multi zone function (Zone 2). Both are located in my basement and not easily accessible. Unfortunately, when I remotely shut down the Yamaha receiver, the AMP 300 stays on. Is there any way to turn the AMP 300 off w/o having to manually go to my basement and shut it off? If not, if I leave the AMP 300 on all the time will it damage the AMP or my Receiver? Also, does the AMP use a lot of electricity if its left on 24/7/365.

Hi Joe,
Your best option is to take advantage of the "auto-on" feature. This will allow the amp to go into sleep mode when not in use but be ready when you want to use your system without having to physically turn it on each time. The switch is on the back and you select "auto-on" vs. "normal" mode. Keep in mind, however, that the lights will stay on even though the amp is "sleeping" in standby mode. Standby mode uses very little power so that should not be an issue.

How best to hook up an iphone/ipad etc. Are there any digital input devices (DACs etc) you could point to as suitable. Looking to avoid using the traditional pre-amp approach

Hi Trevor,
There are a lot of excellent DACs on the market and more to come. Most of our customers rely on the internal DACs found in the iPad or iPod itself and connect to an amplifier using an adapter cable like our Mini Stereo 3.5mm to 2 RCA adapter. This cable is connected to the headphone jack (3.5mm) then connected to the analog input (right and left RCA) of an amplifier, receiver or pre-amplifier. The digital signal is converted to analog internally then output through the headphone jack. Also make sure your music has a bit rate of 256 or higher (less compression).

Hi,
i am looking to set up a whole house speaker system from one central location.
i have ceiling speakers (6-1/2" ace 590 i think) in all rooms and to lacations have outside (frnt & back). i have svc300 volume controls at all locations (100'S outdoor type outside) and your PSM8 selector.
i want to connect all of this to my Yamaha RX-V2400. can i connect this directly to the "B" from the selector? do i need another peice for speaker power?
any ideas will be helpful.

: Hi Mark,
For 8 zones, we recommend adding an amplifier like our high current AMP300 (sold in our 8 zone kit). Connect your receiver as the source via RCA and then connect the speaker selector as if it were one pair of speakers.

Is there an LFE input for 2 subwoofers? I have a Pioneer receiver which only has 2 - RCA single cable outputs for the subwoofer signal. Where do these plug into this amp? Thanks,

Hi Joe,
You would connect your receiver to the AMP300 with an RCA and your subs to the receiver's LFE outputs.
Alternatively, you could go into the AMP300 from your receiver into Line 2 input then out of Line 2 output to your two subs with a sub cable splitter. Keep in mind, however, that you would not be utilizing the LFE feature with this setup.
