The SSVC6D dual source 6-pair speaker selector with volume controls is one of our most popular models because it's the perfect fit and price for a wide range of distributed audio systems and includes features found on selectors that cost three times as much. Made of high quality metal cast construction and compact enough to fit tablet top, this versatile speaker selector connects six pairs of speakers or 12 speakers total and puts you in control of which zone to play and at what volume level. Compatible with all high-power amps up to 300W, the front-mounted master A/B switch allows you to toggle between two audio sources; for instance, switch from music streamed from your tablet or receiver with just a push of a button.
    Features:
    • Dual source speaker selector that distributes audio from a high current amplifier to up to six pairs of speakers or six separate zones
    • Includes individual volume control knobs to raise or lower the volume of each listening zone
    • Front-mounted master A/B switch lets you turn sources either on or off
    • Play one pair, a combination of pairs, or all six pairs simultaneously and adjust the volume to suit each zone
    • Impedance protection allows a single amplifier to safely power several pairs of speakers
    • Autoformer-based operates more efficiently than resistor-based selectors
    • Compact table top design or fits inside cabinets and equipment racks
    • Six individual zone on/off slotted buttons for easy labeling
    • Removable input/output connectors provide hassle-free hook-up
    • Compatible with all high-current amplifiers up to 300W
    • Accepts up to 14-gauge speaker cable
    • High quality metal construction

Professional-Level Whole House Audio at a DIY Price
This durable 6-zone speaker selector will accommodate many distributed audio systems and is limited only by your imagination. Control your outdoor rock speakers and patio system with outputs 1 and 2, dining room and kitchen speakers with outputs 3 and 4, etc., to create a professional-level whole house system. The SSVC6D is also well suited for commercial applications such as restaurants where the bar area may have higher volumes than the dining rooms and restrooms.

    Impedance-Matching Protection Safeguards Amplifiers
To help protect expensive audio equipment, this 6-zone high-power speaker selector includes impedance-matching frequency protection circuitry that reduces subsonic signals so you can safely drive multiple pairs of speakers without going below the amp's impedance ratings which can cause it to overheat or shut down.

Designed for Ease of Use and Installation
Connecting 12 speakers is a tedious and frustrating chore which is why the SSVC6D includes removable input and output connectors that accept up to 14-gauge speaker cable. The heavy-duty connectors unplug from the back so you can strip and insert the wires systematically without confusion of what speaker wire is going to what zone. For added convenience, the individual on/off buttons are slotted so you can label each of the listening zones.

Nick • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Does this product keep the left and right channels grounds separated / on different paths? I see that as a requirement mentioned with SONOS amps.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Nick: The speaker selector features isolated grounds. There are no common ground connections. The SONOS AMP has no problem with any of our 8 ohm speaker selectors. A better deal is combining the SONOS Connect and our OSD XMP100 Class D Power Amplifier. There is special pricing on the XMP100 plus you would get free shipping on both the amp and the SSVC6D speaker selector. TL/4606
Christy • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have an Onkyo Tx-rz610. Will the SSVC6D dual source work with this receiver?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Christy: Zone 2 output connected to the High (speaker) level output is recommended if you are connecting a single pair of 8 ohm speakers.. Checkout page 16 in the Owner's Manual where it shows a pair of speakers connected to the Zone 2 Speaker output (channel 6 and 7, limiting your home theater to 5.1). It shows the Zone 2 Pre-amp connected to a receiver and pair of speakers. But we always recommend adding an external amplifier like our AMP200 then adding the SSVC6D connected to the speaker level output of the Amp. TL/4729
Greg • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM How does the ssvc6 differ from the older version svl6?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HI Greg: The new SSVC6D has a master switch for the dual source, one button that controls all 6 zones Source A or Source B. There is a independent on/off switch per zone. On the older SSVC6 we had a independent dual source switch with a choice of source A or B per zone as well as on/off switch per zone. There were issues with cross talk between the Zones so we had to decide which would be more stable, We determined that the independent on/off per zone with a single master A/B switch would work best. The SSVC4, SSVC2 and SSVC1 all have both A or B switch and on/off per zone. I hope that helps TL/4740
David Harman • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM AM I able to use this with a Crown XLi 1500 (330 watts into 8 ohm) to drive 6 pairs of 8 ohm bookshelf speakers?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi David: The SSVC6D should be a good match for the Crown amp and six pair of bookshelf speakers. The internal Volume Controls are rated like our SVC300, 300 watts peak and 150 watts RMS. The SSVC6D comes with the impedance setting at 8X for all six internal Volume Controls. The Crown appears to be a high current power amp where you could get away with setting the Impedance matching settings to 4X for all 12 jumpers especially if you play less than all six pairs at once for extended periods. Making sure you physically turn off the zone at the speaker selector. Good choice TL/4855
James • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Am I able to use this volume control with 4 ohm speakers? If so, does my receiver need to be able to handle a 4 ohm load? Or will it balance the load from the speakers connected to it and present the amp with an 8 ohm load? And can I mix & match 4 ohm & 8 ohm speakers, or do they all need to be the same?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi James: Good question, all of our Volume controls will work with 4, 6 or 8 ohm speakers. The Impedance setting applies to how many 8 ohm connections there are to the device (in this case the volume Control). In the case of a 4 ohm speaker that now has to be calculated as 2 each 8 ohm connections. The SSVC6D speaker selector features 6 internal 300 watt impedance matching volume controls. There are four settings for the internal jumpers, 1X, 2X, 4X and 8X but the unit is shipped with all jumpers set to 8X (there are two settings per VC, a R and L). You can hook up 4 ohm with 8 ohm speakers, the 4 ohm speakers usually play louder. The real question is what are using for power for your system. It is not recommended to use the speaker level Zone 2 output from a Audio Video Receiver. They typically only want to connect to a single pair of speakers certainly not six pairs connected to a passive speaker selector box even with protection either internally or from Impedance matching volume controls whether they are external or in your case built in. We definitely recommend using something like our AMP200 or 300 or something comprable from another manufacturer to power the Zone 2.
