New to our Hi-Definition resistor base volume control family, the SKR120 slide volume controls are often used with multi-channel amplifiers and impedance-matching speaker selectors. This is not an impedance matching volume control and features optimized sound quality with minimal low end roll off due to high permeability steel utilization. The SKR series of transformerless volume controls offers the widest frequency response of any volume control on the market today with virtually no high or low end roll off resulting in audiophile sound quality. Other features include two ounce double-sided G10 glass epoxy PCBs, a non-shorting design utilizing a "make before break" switch which prevents the amplifier from ever seeing a dead short and 12-14 gauge solderless speaker terminals with easy top termination. Every volume control includes a color coded knob and mounting screws.

Hi Nestor: We have a Black replacement kit for the slider style that worked with our WMS Impedance Matching volume controls. It should work with the SKR-120 as well. Model#: OSD-BlackSlideVolume. It comes with Decora insert, outer plate and slider. TL/4745
Dave P • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Considering getting a couple of these for a combination of indoor and outdoor speaker locations where each speaker pair will have a dedicated amplifier channel. As a result of that setup, I've no concerns about impedence matching and would prefer the higher fidelity of a resistance-based volume control like the SKR120. However, the description of the SKR120 doesn't say anything about installation requirements for outdoor usage. My outdoor installation locations are all on the house-side of a covered patio, so there is no chance of rain hitting them. On the other hand, its outside and who knows where children or landscapers or what-have-you will point hoses? Additionally, I'm in central TX so heat might be an issue. Would these be water resistant and capable of dealing with the TX heat? If not, is there an alternative model that would work for this type of requirement?

Hi Dave: The OVC305R is a Resister based Volume Control. It features audiophile sound quality with a wider Frequency Response than the Transformer based units. Also when turned all the way counter clockwise it is totally off. The difference is this is a rotary style versus the slider. This would be your best choice for outdoor with the best sound quality.
