Are the black ones matte black or glossy black? Also, what is the dimensions of the decora insert (not the faceplate but the insert)? Thank you.

I believe the wall plates are semi-gloss. The decora insert is a standard size and perfectly matches the included outer plate.

What are the dimensions of the insert part of this set?

It is a standard Decora insert, 2 5/8 H x 1 5/16 W.
