Relax in the tub and enjoy beautiful sound with these water-resistant 6.5" in-ceiling speakers! With 150W power handling, these in-ceiling speakers are the solution to bringing quality audio to high moisture areas, and are constructed of durable, moisture-resistant materials for use in high-humidity areas such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchens, under outdoor eaves or covered porches. Sold in pairs, these weather-resistant speakers are also great for covered porches and patios! The aluminum grill cover is rust-resistant for wet application. The ICE600WRS weather-resistant in-ceiling speaker pair works well with a CL3 in-wall rated speaker wire, which is designed to run inside walls.
Pivoting Tweeter
The job of the tweeter is to deliver the higher frequencies of music and soundtracks. The tweeter is also adjustable, meaning it can be aimed toward the listening area. This can make a big difference in sound quality especially for dialog and higher frequencies.
How Does this Speaker Mount in the Ceiling?
Customers often ask us if they need special installation mounting brackets on their OSD ceiling speakers. The answer is no and here’s why. All our in-ceiling speakers feature a dog leg (L-shaped) mounting system that is part of the frame. Before you install the speakers, remove the grille and you’ll see several the mounting screws near the front frame. These screws need to be loosened to activate the dog leg clamps. Use a screwdriver to loosen (turn to the left) these screws and the clamp will come loose. When the speaker is in position in the ceiling, tighten (turn to the right) the screw and the speaker will be secured to the ceiling.
What Type of Speaker Wire and What Gauge?
Wiring is not included with in-ceiling speakers so you will have to purchase some. We recommend our OSD Audio CL3/FT4 cable that is UL (fire) rated for in-wall and outdoor speaker installs. This type of cable includes a heavy-duty outer jacket approved for in-wall/in-ceiling installation. The high-quality plastic jacket is also very flexible so it's easy to run the wires inside the wall. As for the gauge, for runs up to 100 feet for background music, 16-gauge will be fine. If the run is approaching or exceeding 100 feet, we suggest 14-gauge wire.
Testing the Sound Quality of In-Ceiling Speakers
Many customers like to test the sound quality of their new OSD Audio in-ceiling speakers before they install them. Keep in mind, however, that these flush-mount speakers are designed to be used in the wall or ceiling. Uninstalled in-wall/in-ceiling speakers will sound weak and tinny because without the proper enclosure (in this case your house wall) the speaker can’t produce the sound pressure level it needs. If you want to try them out, we recommend mounting the in-ceiling speakers into a box of about 3 cubic ft. or larger; or simply mount them in the ceiling and then listen. This will give you an accurate measure of the sound quality.
For a retrofit installation, no construction bracket is needed.

I have purchased a set of these and plan to add additional sets. My question is what is the best speaker control unit to support seven zones plus volume control? I plan to connect to my Yamaha RX-V673 AV Receiver. I currently run my surround sound speakers with my TV and plan to run the other speakers for my audio only.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Jimmer,
You’ll need an additional amplifier to drive 7 zones. Take a look at our 8-zone kit that comes with a high current amp (AMP300), ISS8 speaker selector and indoor volume controls. You can also buy the components individually, say if you want outdoor volume controls instead.

Do the ICE600WRS speakers have the same cut-out template dimension as the ICE650 type speakers?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Cory,
The cutout is slightly different for our ICE600 weather-resistant ceiling speakers. The ICE650 is 8 1/4" while the ICE600WRS is 7 5/8". You can view the dimensions under the features and specs below the picture by clicking "View More" in blue

I am planning to install outdoor speakers for a covered patio and pool application. The covered patio will also have a tv on it. I'm not sure how many speakers I need, volume controls, amp, etc. I want the speakers to have a wireless connection to Internet radio, and was thinking of using the Sonos bridge and amp for that connection. I was thinking of installing two speakers in the ceiling over the porch, and two speakers in the eave facing the pool, two zones. What equipment would you recommend for this type of install?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Steve,
Sounds like a great outdoor system! We suggest connecting an OV300 volume control to the Sonos connect amp. Then connect a pair of ICE600WRS ceiling speakers and possibly the AP525 patio speakers pair facing the pool. Run these in parallel from the OVC300 volume control and set the impedance to 2X.

I just purchased these speakers and was wondering if I needed to remove the white fabric inside the grill? Also I have read that you recommend that a clear coating be sprayed on the speaker if used in outside area. What is this product called?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HI Al:
You will need to remove the internal cloth to apply the clear cote. Then just discard the cloth.
