Relax in the tub and enjoy beautiful sound with these water-resistant 6.5" in-ceiling speakers! With 150W power handling, these in-ceiling speakers are the solution to bringing quality audio to high moisture areas, and are constructed of durable, moisture-resistant materials for use in high-humidity areas such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchens, under outdoor eaves or covered porches. Sold in pairs, these weather-resistant speakers are also great for covered porches and patios! The aluminum grill cover is rust-resistant for wet application. The ICE600WRS weather-resistant in-ceiling speaker pair works well with a CL3 in-wall rated speaker wire, which is designed to run inside walls.
Pivoting Tweeter
The job of the tweeter is to deliver the higher frequencies of music and soundtracks. The tweeter is also adjustable, meaning it can be aimed toward the listening area. This can make a big difference in sound quality especially for dialog and higher frequencies.
How Does this Speaker Mount in the Ceiling?
Customers often ask us if they need special installation mounting brackets on their OSD ceiling speakers. The answer is no and here’s why. All our in-ceiling speakers feature a dog leg (L-shaped) mounting system that is part of the frame. Before you install the speakers, remove the grille and you’ll see several the mounting screws near the front frame. These screws need to be loosened to activate the dog leg clamps. Use a screwdriver to loosen (turn to the left) these screws and the clamp will come loose. When the speaker is in position in the ceiling, tighten (turn to the right) the screw and the speaker will be secured to the ceiling.
What Type of Speaker Wire and What Gauge?
Wiring is not included with in-ceiling speakers so you will have to purchase some. We recommend our OSD Audio CL3/FT4 cable that is UL (fire) rated for in-wall and outdoor speaker installs. This type of cable includes a heavy-duty outer jacket approved for in-wall/in-ceiling installation. The high-quality plastic jacket is also very flexible so it's easy to run the wires inside the wall. As for the gauge, for runs up to 100 feet for background music, 16-gauge will be fine. If the run is approaching or exceeding 100 feet, we suggest 14-gauge wire.
Testing the Sound Quality of In-Ceiling Speakers
Many customers like to test the sound quality of their new OSD Audio in-ceiling speakers before they install them. Keep in mind, however, that these flush-mount speakers are designed to be used in the wall or ceiling. Uninstalled in-wall/in-ceiling speakers will sound weak and tinny because without the proper enclosure (in this case your house wall) the speaker can’t produce the sound pressure level it needs. If you want to try them out, we recommend mounting the in-ceiling speakers into a box of about 3 cubic ft. or larger; or simply mount them in the ceiling and then listen. This will give you an accurate measure of the sound quality.
For a retrofit installation, no construction bracket is needed.

I am wiring my house for in-ceiling speakers and I have 2 bathrooms that are each wired for one mono speaker. Each bathroom will be on its own zone. Can I purchase this pair of speakers, and run them each as a mono speaker in each respective bathroom? Thank you.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Neil:
It depends on what you mean by a mono speaker. Is the a single two conductor connection coming into the room? Then yes you can use this speaker for both your bathroom. If you have a four conductor right (+/-) and left (+/-) cable then you would want our ICE 600 TT WRS. This speaker features a Dual Voice coil design that has a separate input for each voice coil. What it does it takes your stereo four conductor input and sums the signal into mono full range output. So it really depends on your speaker wires coming into the bathroom on which speaker will work best for you. Really would need to know what your true input signal is.

I have a covered porch and would like to install in ceiling speakers. The issue is that, the ceiling is bead board siding. I'm looking for speakers and a support bracket to install since the siding is to thin to support. Most likely this would be done after the hole has cut out.

Hi Ralph:
I would go with Patio Speakers like our AP525 and mount to your beams. The advantage of the sealed patio speaker is you can aim it for better coverage than any in-ceiling speaker. The AP525 has a two way mounting bracket that does the typical swivel and with the unique adjustable mount you can tilt the speaker as well. You can still run your wires in the ceiling and cutting a small hole above the speaker to connect. You will wan to mount the speakers 6 to 8 feet apart. The AP525 and AP650 (the 6.5 inch version ) have the highest outdoor rating. And unlike a in-ceiling speaker the Patio speaker has the tuned cabinet that sounds the same no matter where you place it.
If you have good access behind the ceiling you could possibly use new construction brackets but the in-ceiling speaker will not match the mounting flexibility or sound quality of the patio speaker available in white or black finish.

can these speakers be spray painted?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Don:
Yes they can be spray painted. I believe there is a removable cloth glued to the inside of the speaker. This helps when spray painting the speaker but you need to remove it once your done or the perforated holes will be clogged and will block the sound.
Good luck

A basic specification missing. Listed on almost any speaker listed in the world.
4 ohm or 8 ohm impedance?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Tom:
Sorry about that. It is 8 ohm just like the ICE800WRS. I will get that added to the bullet points, thanks for the heads up.
